LONDON - Online fashion store ASOS.com has signed up to be the headline sponsor for Global Radio's 95.8 Capital FM Summertime Ball in a significant six-figure deal.
ASOS.com wants to use the partnership to promote its online fashion store and its positioning as "first for fashion, first for trends", and "the UK's largest branded fashion offer".
The sponsorship, which was brokered by the sponsorship division of Aegis media agency Carat, includes ASOS.com on-air trails, live reads as well as print materials such as tickets and programmes, a significant brand presence at the concert, and experiential activity.
Presenters from 95.8 Capital FM will announce the venue, acts and how to get tickets for the Summertime Ball with ASOS.com, live on air over the coming weeks.
Mike Gordon, group commercial director at Global Radio, said: "This partnership is an ideal brand fit for 95.8 Capital FM and we're looking forward to hosting the greatest London concert of the summer, with ASOS.com as our sponsors."
Nick Robertson, chief executive of ASOS.com, said: "Partnering with 95.8 Capital FM's Summertime Ball is a great opportunity to bring our proposition to life, reaching our customers with a series of both online and offline initiatives that will engage and excite them.
"We know that the ever-prevalent link between fashion and music that is so central to our customers' lifestyles, will be heavily underscored by this event."
The first Summertime Ball in June 2009 was sponsored by Barclaycard and featured performances from stars including Katy Perry, Calvin Harris and Lionel Richie.
At the 2009 Jingle Bell Ball, which was sponsored by Microsoft Windows 7, performers such as Janet Jackson, Lady Gaga and JLS performed to a crowd of 17,000 over two days.
