Coffee shop chain Starbucks has been revealed that they turn back to the new sponsor for the Capital FM Summertime Ball at the end of this year.

Kesha, who styles herself as a hedonistic trash-popper, is more Avril Lavigne with synthesisers, and Cheryl Cole is overshadowed by her dancers, one of whom escorts her offstage hand-in-hand. Rihanna looks like an actor playing a pop singer, and Usher is soulless; tellingly, the highlight of his set is a guest appearance by will.i.am and Justin Bieber on the hit OMG. Alexandra Burke, though, is a pleasant surprise: X Factor winners seldom have a trace of the actual x-factor, but she's a dynamo. Any more shouting, though, and Davina McCall will want her larynx back.
Holding the event at Wembley divests it of atmosphere, but none of the 15 acts complains. Almost without exception, they goggle at the size of the crowd, rapper Chipmunk speaking for all when he says: "Seventy thousand people singing my songs! That's crazy!"
For most, this will be the only time they'll ever play Wembley, and they know it: each is bent on making the most of their moment. They vie to wear the most chucklesome costume (Burke's disco-astronaut leotard wins) and display the greatest amount of oiled torso. Usher is the standout here.
But it's the ones who don't dress up who make the greatest impression. The tiny 16-year-old Canadian Bieber is presently every 12-year-old girl's dreamboat, and his entrance is greeted with hysteria. Asos. will also have significant brand presence at the concert as well as experiential activity.

Capital FM's Summertime Ball all is set to return in 2010 with a stellar lineup to be announced over the coming weeks.
The one-day pop-a-thon party of the summer will take place at London's Wembley Stadium on Sunday June 6th. Although the lineup is yet to be revealed, rumours are abound that Monster-Ball superstar Lady Gaga will top the bill with teenage Internet sensation Justin Bieber making his first UK performance to 55,000 screaming pop fans! Also rumoured to be on the 2010 bill are JLS, Rihanna, Pixie Lott and Black Eyed Peas.
Last years Summertime Ball took place at Arsenal FC's Emirates Stadium, and featured performances from Lionel Richie, JLS, Daniel Merriweather, Leona Lewis, Akon, Kelly Clarkson and Katy Perry - amongst many others.

LONDON - Online fashion store ASOS.com has signed up to be the headline sponsor for Global Radio's 95.8 Capital FM Summertime Ball in a significant six-figure deal.

ASOS.com wants to use the partnership to promote its online fashion store and its positioning as "first for fashion, first for trends", and "the UK's largest branded fashion offer".

The sponsorship, which was brokered by the sponsorship division of Aegis media agency Carat, includes ASOS.com on-air trails, live reads as well as print materials such as tickets and programmes, a significant brand presence at the concert, and experiential activity.

It was a long day, and the build-up and constant shelling of sponsor adverts was tedious, but our seats in the stadium (though very far from the stage) were far more comfortable, and had a far improved view than I'd expected (even if the people infront of me were standing, I could see the stage just as well without having to stand myself).
Katy Perry opened, and though she was good, the crowd really wasn't warmed up yet. I think they could have done better by put back some of the spot cream commercials with music videos, or something to be honest.

finally it got into full move back and forth.
There were lots of good bits to pick from, but for me the tourist attractions included The Saturdays (Vanessa resigned to a chair), Kelly Clarkson's set, Dizzee Rascal making a shock appearance during the quite dull and out of place Calvin Harris section early in the afternoon, and obviously the never-aging Lionel Richie!
There were lots of good performers and fine songs(and a few rubbish ones. Did I hear somebody scream Akon?), but I think it's safe to say that Blue took the show at the finish of the night, especially when Lionel Richie joined them on stage for a performance of Easy.
Lots of people had left by this point though, clearing most of our row so we were able to get up and dance to our stupid heart's content.

A newly reformed Blue emerge from beneath the stage, hooded like Stonehenge druids; a spirited All Rise is a welcome blast from the past, but their slight air of desperation makes it difficult to hold out much hope for a successful comeback.
For every dud, though, there is a triumph. Ciara's dance moves are spellbinding.
